The process of providing documents and information to Embrace and the underwriter was very stressful, though Susan tried to be helpful. We were told at the closing that we had already signed a release for much of the info and should not have needed to provide years worth of everything independently. Also, we could not convince the underwriter that our annual RMD was indeed income. When we asked why the process was so cumbersome, we were told that it would be much simpler if we were still employed and received paychecks (!). Yet, we both receive pensions and social security from the USG plus our RMD. If we were working, we could get fired tomorrow. But our USG pensions and SS are quite secure, not to mention the financial assets we own.
